Design Your Own Kindle and iPad Case: How It Works (2026)
A custom photo case is a cover printed with an image you supply — a pet, a place, your own illustration — instead of (or alongside) a ready-made pattern. At CaseBlossom you upload a photo, we print it on the front flap of a made-to-order Kindle, Kobo or iPad case, and you can add a free name or initials on top. The two things that decide the result are image resolution (aim for the long edge at least 1500–2000 px so it prints crisp) and matching your exact device model, because cases are cut per model. What is a "design your own" case?
It's the same hard-shell, auto sleep/wake cover we make in our own floral designs — except the artwork is yours. Three ways to personalise:
- Pick a ready design (our 30+ floral and painterly patterns).
- Personalise with a name or initials (free, on any design).
- Upload your own photo or artwork — full custom print. This is the "design your own" route.
How do I make a custom photo Kindle or iPad case?
- Choose your exact device (Kindle Paperwhite 12, Kobo Clara, iPad Air, and so on) — the case is cut to fit it.
- Upload your image. For a clean print, use the highest-resolution file you have: long edge roughly 1500–2000 px or more, JPEG or PNG, no heavy compression.
- Set the layout — full-bleed photo, or photo plus a name or monogram.
- We print and ship. The design is printed on the front flap; the back stays a clear hard shell so your device colour shows through.
What photo works best?
- Resolution beats size on screen. A 1200 px image that looks fine on a phone can print soft; go bigger.
- Watch the aspect ratio — a portrait photo on a landscape flap gets cropped; we flag it before printing.
- Avoid screenshots and re-shared social images — they're usually too low-res and may carry someone else's copyright.
- Flat lighting prints truer than a dark, noisy photo.
Can I design my own iPad case too?

Can I print someone else's artwork or a brand logo? Only print images you own or have permission to use. We can't reproduce copyrighted artwork, logos, or celebrity images on order.
What if my photo is low resolution? We'll flag likely blur or cropping before printing rather than ship a bad result — send the largest file you have.
Do custom cases still auto sleep/wake? Yes. The magnet in the front flap keeps automatic sleep/wake; only the printed artwork changes.
